Travel looks different depending on where you sit

A travel programme has to satisfy several people who want different things from it, and who tend to talk past each other. Finance wants every rupee attributed to a cost centre. Whoever owns travel wants the policy actually followed. HR wants to know that someone travelling alone at midnight is accounted for. The traveller wants to get there without filling in a form.

Those are not really competing requirements. They are different views of the same system. A policy rule applied at booking is a compliance control to one person, a budget control to another, and simply the reason the search results look sensible to a third.

So these pages are organised three ways. By need, if you are solving a specific problem such as running an offsite or moving off reimbursement. By role, if you want to know what the day looks like from your seat. And by company size, because a thirty-person startup and a distributed enterprise want genuinely different things from the same platform.
